Frequently Asked QuestionS

Are you able to facilitate an online retreat, workshop or team-building session?

Yes definitely! I use Zoom, Mural and other online tools and platforms to bring teams together in fun, creative and meaningful ways. Tell me what you have in mind, and I’ll tell you how we can make it happen :)

We’re not sure we can afford a consultant for a full strategic planning process. Can you still help us?

Yes! While I think every organization should invest in a full strategic planning process every 3-5 years, I know this isn’t always financially feasible. Thankfully, there are many ways to build strategic capacity for your organization, review your activities, see if they make sense, and figure out what you can do differently and better. Let’s talk!

Is governance training really necessary for volunteers who are just trying to give back to their communities?

Absolutely. People join boards out of the goodness of their hearts, and quite often, they do not appreciate that being on a board brings with it important fiduciary duties and legal responsibilities. Every organization should invest in the knowledge and capacity of its board of directors. It is the right thing to do for people that are giving their time voluntarily and taking on personal responsibility for making sure that an organization is governed well. Rest assured, the investment will pay off in many ways!

Do you provide fundraising advice?

I have learned that fundraising strategies and tactics must be informed by strong organizational strategies. My starting point is always to ensure that a client has a well thought out strategic plan that will guide the development and delivery of its programs and services. Following that, I occasionally will provide guidance to support revenue generation, diversification and fundraising success for select clients; but this is not a key area of focus.

Do you provide legal advice?

I provide legal advisory services in the areas of governance, risk management and policy development through Chohan Law.
